Home Cafe Ashgrove, a Kid Friendly Cafe in North-West Brisbane
Posted on August 4th, 2017
We love hearing about Kid Friendly Cafes, of course! We especially love it when people who are part of our community take the time to let us know about a place they’ve loved.
One of our lovely mums, Danielle, took the time to let us know all about Home Cafe Ashgrove.
Danielle’s thoughts about her experience at Home Cafe Ashgrove are below. Thanks Danielle for letting us know about your Kid Friendly Cafe experience!
We ordered from the kids menu for our 2.5 year olds and they enjoyed their milkshakes with curly straws in brightly coloured plastic “hipster jars”. The cheesy bread was also a winner being served very quickly for hungry little bellies and on a plastic plate. Us mummies enjoyed a bite to eat which was delicious and a coffee which was also good.
Despite the kiddie corner being on the smaller side, the kid friendly menu and quick service made it a very doable cafe with little ones (and two babies)! We would recommend heading to the back of the cafe and sitting near to the play area!”
That sounded so good to us we went there this week and indulged in the Crispy Potato Rosti with scrambled eggs – both of us so we didn’t get food envy – and delicious Botero Coffee.
We found a good kids menu with breakfast and lunch options, including a kids lunchbox. There were lots of mums, nanas and carers around with kids from newborn to 5, and a cute little kids area which is quite separate from the main part of the cafe. The service was efficient and quick, and there was kids artwork on the counter – what a way to make little ones feel special! We also spotted dog bowls for people who want to take their furry friends.
There were some kids playing in the playroom on the day we went so we didn’t take any photos. There are cartoon pictures on the wall, with a sweet little door that heads back into the main part of the cafe, and a glass wall from the outside. There are some blocks and toys – and like Danielle said, I think the novelty of going through a door and playing independently would keep our little guy entertained.
We really liked Home Cafe Ashgrove, and we can see why they have such a loyal following amongst their customers. If you check it out, make sure to let us know!
